From careful observation and overhearing a plethora of conversations, it is safe to say a great amount of people only care about Ralph Lauren because of its name and logo. I wish more of them cared about the history of the brand, quality of the garment, and why the items are timeless. For over forty years, P.R.L. has provided timeless quality that will be around for many, many more years to come. I’ve been asked more than once if I ever get tired of wearing the same things and brand over and over. My answer is always the same, because to me, it’s deeper than just a brand name.
Ralph Lauren created a brand relevant to the American Dream and way of life. I want much more than the standard “American Dream,” but the classic items he’s designed complement how I’d like to be portrayed. From the traditional polo shirt to the button-downs, these two essential garments I swear by, and I am not the only one. There are a few lifestyle brands, but it is definitely all about personal taste. I choose Ralph Lauren. His Americana/Ivy League aesthetic has been charismatic to me for years and it won’t get old. Classics never get old, they never fade away. They stand the tests of time. Step into any Ralph Lauren store and you will instantly recognize a style dedicated to a certain way of life. I wish for more people to see past the much-recognized logo and truly appreciate P.R.L. for what it is. That would make my heart smile.
